On Sunday, May 4th, Valley View Bible Camp came to share with our church on what God was doing at camp. After a great time singing together, we shared some of the ways that God has used camp ministry to encourage, challenge, and stretch us, including those stinky outhouses!
After more singing, Dale Buhler (Ministry Co-ordinator), Michael Bergen (new program director), and Henry and Loretta Enns (Executive Directors) shared with us some of the things that have been happening at Valley View over the winter and what we can look forward to throughout the summer. Henry and Loretta challenged us that whether we are serving at camp or other ministries, we all should be taking the opportunity to serve. Our own Lindsay Zenz took the opportunity to share with us about her experience of camp last summer and shared that she would be returning for her second summer. Lindsay will be heading to college in the fall and will be participating in One Hope Canada's SMAP (Summer Missionary Assistance Program) to help her with funding for college. If you are interested in financially or prayerfully support Lindsay, please take the opportunity to talk to her.
After the service, it was time for fellowship and some good food! The Sunday School Department organized a potluck, and as usual, the church responded. Amazing food was had along with some great conversations. We are planning are doing the potlucks on the last Sunday of every month beginning in June for a time of community building. Thank you to everyone for bringing the amazing food.
Here are some pictures of the great morning:
