"Do not look at his appearance, or the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."
1 Samuel 16:7

We need God to examine our hearts because...

1) God sees differently than man sees (1 Samuel 16:7)

2) Our hearts are desperately sick (Jeremiah 17:9-10)

3) Our lives reflect our hearts (Luke 6:45)
